Reapplication of Study Permit in Canada for Filipino RN
Reapplication of Study Permit in Canada of a
Filipino RN to Study People Support Worker Certificate in Ontario Canada
A Filipino RN from the north part of the Philippines had previously refused in her application to study in Canada, she is in her 20’s of age, single and only daughter of her parents – were both working in a private company. She has no working experience related to her qualification, as she’s currently working as online marketing for nearly 3 years. She has her own savings and that her application is supported financially with her sponsors in Canada.
On her first application, the visa officer has had asked her to take the full medical examinations – this information was sent to her e-mail and due to her busy work schedule, she failed to comply with the medical exams; as we all know, there is always a deadline for compliance to submit the medical results. Later, she found out on her e-mail about the request medical exams and it was too late for her to comply as the visa officer has already made the decision on her application, as a result her application was refused on the following grounds:
- Travel History – Not everyone would have an opportunity to travel, as it requires funding, or if not, if someone has the resources to finance the travels for example, but due to work or personal reasons – one may unable to do so to travel.
We believe that having no previous travel abroad would not hinder someone’s application to study in Canada and apply for a study permit and that being said, on her age, it is possible to experience traveling abroad especially for Canada to study and experience temporarily the culture, food and later gain an international qualification in Canada.
- Funds – She has presented the copy of her bank statements and her sponsor’s source of income and bank statements too – as they are both permanent resident in Canada and working full- time.
- When after checking of her documents financially and with her sponsors it is clearly meets the tuition fee cost, living cost and travel costs in Canada, noting that the course she intended to take was more than 8 month only and the documents of her sponsors are likely credible enough to sustain financially her application to study temporarily in Canada.
- Limited employment prospect in my country of resident -At her age, it would have been difficult for her to land a job that is related to her qualification as a nurse and having an additional certificate in People Support Worker Program would increase her chances, over her contemporaries not only in the Philippines but overseas as well, on a global scale.
With all these, we are able to get her study permit application be approved from the Canadian Embassy on her second attempt of an application.
