TIPS When Applying for Visit Visa to the UK
If you have been refused by UK and Visa Immigration regarding your visit visa application, usually it would tell you why your application was turned down as per visit rules, and could only reapply if your circumstances have changed substantially. But the question is, can you reapply? It may vary depending on the grounds of rejection stated onto your letter and the information and evidentiary documents which you have had supplied in your first instance of submission.
The guidelines are in place to determine a genuine visitor for visit visa to the UK, when assessing your personal circumstances and relevant factors which may include the following:
- Previous immigration history – ECO would take into consideration your previous travel history, if you have had any previous travel overseas e.g. from U.S.A, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or the U.K and the Schengen states, if you have followed the prevailing conditions of your visa for such countries you have visited. In the event, you have had any record of violating your visa conditions, it is may indicate that you are not a genuine visitor, (depending on your individual circumstances and if you’re your circumstances has had change after your previous travels – prior to submission of application for a visit visa for the U.K). While, if this would be your first- time to travel as to why you are seeking a visit visa for the U.K, ECO would only be reliant for the information and evidentiary documents which will demonstrate, that you are a bona fide visitor. Your immigration history, does not only the basis of showing you are a genuine visitor, as ECO would also take into account other information available for them in assessing your application in general, like your social & economic ties of your home country of resident.
- Your personal and economic ties of your country of residence – Although, no particular level of funds to show when applying for a visit visa to the UK, ECO would always weigh in your personal ties in your home country, if you are currently studying or working, or if your family composition is greater than of what for your country of residence or vice versa. For example, if you have several family members in the UK & yet, you have no work – this may consider as a having lesser ties. While, having a secured employment in terms of your economic ties, does not necessarily means you will be granted a visa or demonstrate you have economic ties, as again, your application will be assessed entirely by ECO to come up with the decision as to grant or refuse your visit visa application.
- Your purpose of visit – If you have no credible reasons for your purpose in applying for a visit visa in the U.K [you] as applicant and your sponsor (if you are sponsored by a family member or friend in the U.K), have made any discrepancies about the statements, unable to show proof of relationship or facts as per information supplied or documents, your application will be refused. Further to this, having a sponsor from the U.K [third party] which will support your application does not significantly imply greater chances of your visit visa approval. The burden of proof is with the principal applicant seeking for an entry for visit visa to the U.K, besides ECO would check [third party’s] eligibility for providing funds, maintenance and accommodation for you, as per rules paragraph 4.3
- Funds – This is the most essential part of preparation of submitting your visit visa for the U.K [principal applicant], quite often, if one could show to support their propose travel cost for the U.K, (s) he has to establish – the availability, credibility [source] e.g., from employment or from business OR from third party, there should be a supporting documents for all of this, to avoid a doubt from ECO, which may refuse your application in any case the funds were provided very recently for the purpose of applying for the visa- in other words, you must have your funds keep for long, as they would definitely check them Furthermore, in the event you have other expenses to carry on for example if you are renting, or paying mortgage(s) or if you live with dependent(s) from your country of resident and you are the one providing for them, ECO computes your incurring expenses, less your savings and income to arrive and determine the funds availability, if it is sufficiently enough to cover your propose travel to the U.K, when submitting your visit visa application. It is important to note that, If you have a third party undertaking which will provide for your maintenance and accommodation (non-financial), ECO would not consider nor to accept this as funds – but merely to consider as factor relevant in establishing the applicant’s credibility and intentions but do not constitute as funds.
